Writer/Director
Ark Miura was born in Tokyo.
As the representative of African Youth Meetup, she has organized events for young people of African descent in Japan along with members who are students or working full-time.
Her co-directed documentary “Ark & Maya: All Mixed Up” has been screened at Tokyo Documentary Film Festival 2021. After graduating high school, she took a gap year to shoot the independent film “Emily & Blakey” with her friends and it was screened at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies’ TUFS Cinema.
In between, she also interviewed mixed-race people who were born during the American Occupation of Japan. In 2024, she shot a video about a lawsuit seeking to end racially discriminatory police questioning. She was also the torch bearer for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Her films and songs can be seen on Instagram or Youtube @jeunnedark
